This little cafe serves up the most delicious Indian food, that you wouldn’t even notice it was all vegan! From dosa waffles to curries, you will have a hard time choosing. My friend Melissa and I visited on a Saturday, which meant we got to choose the brunch option.
Even though I have been to lots of Indian restaurants, I have never been able to try a mango lassi due the main ingredient being dairy. I was so excited to finally be able to try a dairy-free version! The mango lassi was creamy, perfectly sweetened, fruity and refreshing. I would definitely have it again.
We were both stuck between The KFC (Keralan Fried Chick’n) and The South Indian Brunch Thali. Turns out we couldn’t resist trying a bit of everything so both ended up getting a Thali! The only difference was that I chose paratha and Melissa chose naan.
The Thali came with two different curries and two dips, all served in metal dishes.
The Aloo Gobi, made with cauliflower and potatoes in a rich tomato sauce, was tangy but perfectly seasoned. My favourite was the tarka dhal as it was creamy, light and moreish. I could have eaten another one easily!
The kachumba salad was tiny but the finely chopped vegetables were fresh and colourful. I wasn’t keen on the pickles as it was too vinegary for me and overpowered all the other dishes.
We were too full for desserts but were also quite conscious that they were closing soon. We both agreed we would come back again to try the other dishes. Service was great too.
